She's Baaack!!!

Guess who just got back in town?!?!
It's been almost 2 yrs since have utilized this blog! Holy cow batman! My how time flies. I can't even remember why I stopped posting. I guess life just gets in the way sometimes.
Well, Miss Sherrie has mentioned finishing some UFO's this year, so I am on board. I will try to post pics of my projects as I get them finished. The key word is try. I'm stilll working on my Christmas Advent Calendar... going on 3 yrs now, not to mention my Halloween ufo's and a few others. I still have yet to start on my Van Gogh Starry Night as well. Maybe one day.

When it rains...

Wow... it's been a while since I've been on here. A lot of changes have been made.
Divorce was finalized in June. I'm over halfway through this semester... 3 left to go not counting this one before I'm finished w/ my Bach program at MCG. Thinking maybe I should get my Master's while I'm at it... maybe even my PhD... who knows... whats a few thousand in student loans... lol. Okay, not so funny.

I'm thinking that in order to have a normal boring life, I need to move somewhere that I can make enough money to support the kids and I, but at the same time be paid in chicken eggs and apple pies... sounds like fun. Ok, maybe not. I"ll just keep my eyes set on the CDC.

I've also found that I'm losing my faith in humanity. Since when do ppl feel the need to lie more than they tell the truth. Ok, maybe I'm just jaded, but really. I had started seeing someone who said he told me everything... not. Found out that his ex-wife is not his ex-wife afterall. Yes, they were seperated and lived in different homes, but he lied. Major upset for me... HELLO! I should have caught on the the "honesty" part. Tragically, he tried to committ suicide.

As far as my stitching goes... it's been pretty non-existent. I haven't even picked up my Halloween Town project in months. I started on a little bat wall hanging, but it's become a UFO as well. I did start buying the thread for my Starry Night project. I'll be lucky to have it done by the time I'm 90...lol. Ok, yeah, once again, not so funny.

Ok, I'm done w/ my little vent session... I'll try to be a little more chipper next time.

A little behind...

Ok, maybe I'm a lot behind. It's hard enough to keep the duct tape in place which holds my head on tight. ( I figure that if NASCAR can use it, why can't I?!) I didn't realize that I haven't blogged since January. But, this semester is almost over!!!! So ready for the summer.

Couple of updates:

1. I have started on my Halloween Town for the Me Myself and I Round Robins. Unfortunately, small fry #2 dropped my beloved camera and broke it, so no pics as of yet. I'm thinking that I might have my town completed by the time I earn my bachelor's degree...lol.

2. I semi follow another blog... ok, so there's really several that I follow, there just not added to my page. I have them bookmarked on my pc... maybe I should click the "follow" link...lol. Anyways... I just happened to take a look at one in particular today AND!!! this particular blog queen is having a GIVE AWAY people!!!
You'll have to do a copy paste b/c me and links don't get along. So, here's the URL:

Better hurry up and leave a comment b/c she has her drawing on Saturday April
18th!!!!

Well, I suppose that's about all for now. I'm sure I've forgotten something!

Miss Sherry's Biscornu

Here it is... the 1st Biscornu I've ever made. I kind of reversed the colors for each side. Mu daughter picked out the buttons. I think it turned out rather well. And I know it will have a loving home with Miss Sherry...

New Year, New Semester, New Projects

Ok, so I've been a little behind in everything. I have started my new semester of classes. Pathophysiology and Etiology, ICD-9-CM Coding, and another PC class... yipee. But, counting this semester... only 5 more until I earn my Bach Degree.

I did finish one project before Christmas. I made my first Biscornu! I think it turned out very well... Miss Sherrie, whom I gave it to, said she loved it. I will have to post pics of it soon. I also worked some more on my Christmas Advent Calendar. It's coming along very well. I'll have to post pics of it also. Still no progress on My Uncle's Scales of Justice though. I know I need to get it finished, but I really haven't had the interest to do so. I have all of the blueprints and my property for my MMIR Halloween Town. I can't wait to get started. I think I'm way behind everyone else. But, such is life.

My friend who was in the motorcycle accident is doing well. He was able to go home before Christmas to heal before he starts into Rehab. It's going to be a long hard road for him. He did come through his spinal surgery well. He may not be able to feel his feet and legs, but they can feel... his feet are still ticklish. It's just getting the signal from his brain to his feet and vice versa. I have complete faith that things will turn out as God plans them too.

Other than the above, there's really nothing new going on. I promise to post pics soon...lol... ok, if I remember... I'll post a sticky note on the wall. : )

I've been behind...

All of my projects have taken a back seat to me needing to finish up this semester. My first semester at MCG has flown by so fast. I think it has taken some of my sanity with it! This week I have 6 exams. Bombed the first one , but made a C for the class. Last nite, before my pc crashed, I aced my pc vocab exam. I still have 4 to go. There's a reason they call final's week "hell week". lol.
I still haven't purchased the property for my Halloween Town. It's on my to do list. As well as graphing my layout. And I still have yet to finish my Uncle's Scales of Justice for his Law Office. There just never seems to be enough time. And you know, my pattern for Van Gogh's Strry Night has been calling my name as well. So much fun awaits me... I can barely wait!

Oh my holy cow what a month...

Ok, so I haven't been posting and I darn sure haven't been sewing. I just don't know where the month of October went. I fell asleep and woke up to the month of November.
I've had 3 exams... finals start the Monday after Thanksgiving. I completed 4 school projects w/ 2 more to go.
I had been to the ATL 2x and hope to go again this weekend. I won first place at the Halloween party the first time I went. The 2nd time was more of a stressed trip...
One of my dear friends from HS has been checking on me and the kids since he who shall not be named laft last October. My friend and I have been to a couple parties together and he even took me to a movie... very nice of him seeing as I really needed a break from my stressful life up here.
Anyways... a week and a half ago there was a status post from another friend that said... " Just heard about D." I immediately knew something was wrong and had visions of a crotch rocket flying through the air. Little did I know I was right.
D was headed home from his daily workout, made it 2 miles from home when a young gal pulled out in from of him. I mean close enough in front of him that he had nowhere to go. He tried to swirve and miss her... ended up flying over her trunk. I thank God that there were a couple of strangers there that stayed by his side and prayed for him.
His injuries consist of a broken leg... so bad that the tibia broke through skin out the front of his leg and his fibula came out the side. He also suffered a broken wrist, broken ribs, broken pelvis and broken spine at the T3-4... On top of that he was partially paralyzed from his nipples down.
My sister and I went to see him 3 days after his accident. We bypassed the floor nursing station and walked right into the ICU like we owned the place. A nurse stopped us and I told her we had driven a coulpe hours and werre going to see him... she let us pass. Sister and I ended up getting to spend almost 2 hours w/ him before regular visiting hours started. It was nice. He was pretty doped but could comprehend us and sign back. I fussed at him once because his signing was pretty bad and I couldn't understand... so he switched up on me and started writing w/ his finger...lol... told him he couldn't do that...lol. Sister and I scratched a couple of his itches for him around the tape on his face and under his neck collar.
The Dr's put in 2 steel rods from his ankle to his knee the first night he was there. They were going to set his pelvis before doing his back, but then MRI and CT came back that his spine was worse then they thought. So, pelvis was put off. Once the spinal procedure was started, the DR's found that his spinal cord was not cut just pretty damaged. They did the bone graft and who knows what else. They also set his wrist at this time... atleast I think so. They still thought that it would be slim chances for him to walk again. D's pelvis was set a day or so later. Good news.... after his spinal procedure he was able to feel his mom pat his chest and then he felt a burning sensation in his feet.
Now, he's been transferred to a spinal clinic... soon to go home for a while so his wrist can finish healing before he starts rehab. His fire station has been awesome help to him and his family. They're putting in ramps this weekend.
I'm just glad that he was wearing his helmet and pants. Last I saw him he was on his bike in shorts. Crazy.
Other than that... dealing w/ divorce stuff is driving me crazy. I told he who shall not be named that I had seen an attorney... he went from begging me to wait to demanding that I do. And he has a knack for making me feel guilty about it... not my fault he's gone. It's pretty sad to be w/ someone for going on 13 years, always put them first, always do what they ask of you... and then have the rug pulled out from under your feet by them... Like I need any more stress in my life right now... I really need a vacation! Far far away from here.
Maybe I'll get some sewing done next month... I still need to work on my HAlloween Village layout... December 31 is sneaking up on me... But... I do have all my blue prints!!
